Phpstorm debug local apache9/15/2023 One of the first steps I realized, is that PhpStorm is the "Server" and the xdebug is the client. I ran into a similar block when I first setup XDebug - let me see if I can help you here. If that is an incorrect assumption, please let me know. php file in my project.īased on what I have done with ASP.NET, I would expect to be able to set breakpoints in the code and then step through to see the values being given to my variables. It is under "JavaScript Debug" and is called the name of the primary. I only have one Run/Debug Configuration set up, which seems to have been auto-generated. Under Settings > Languages & Frameworks > PHP > Debug, under the section called "Xdebug", the Debug port is set to 9002 to match my php.ini file and "Can accept external connections" is checked. Not sure if this is relevant but I wanted to share nonetheless. With this in mind, under Settings > Build, Execution, Deployment > Deployment, I only have one listing, which is of type "In Place". I did this so that, at the very least, I could get the project to run successfully (initially, not even that was working). The project files are sitting on the root of the Apache web path. (I set it to port 9002 because something on my machine was already using port 9000). Now, I have followed so many freaking tutorials (including and, among many, many others) at this point (I've been working on this for hours), I'm not sure where I came across some of this information, but I will post how things are currently: Alternatively, I have tried "The easiest Xdebug" add-on for Firefox, configuring it for my relevant IDE Key, but that did nothing as well. Note: It isn't even an option to use the bookmark buttons from the PHPStorm website (for "Start Debugging, etc.", within Firefox) as clicking them and reloading the page does nothing, even when PHPStorm is set to listen for connections. I cannot step through the code, looking at variable contents, etc.
